Readers on the ground notice these shifts long before an editorial review cycle would catch them, which makes trip reports genuinely useful raw material for keeping guides current.

The kind of detail that helps most
Specific observations tied to a date are more useful than general impressions. Telling us that a particular trailhead was closed for maintenance when you visited in a given month is more actionable than saying a route felt disappointing overall, since the first gives us something concrete to verify and correct, while the second is harder to act on without more context.
It also helps to mention how you travelled, independently, with a guide, by public transport, by car, since a route that works well by car might be considerably harder without one, and a guide written with one mode of travel in mind can read as misleading to someone using another.
The best trip reports read like a friend correcting a map, specific, dated and easy to check.
What we do with what you tell us
Trip reports are read by the editorial team and, where they confirm or contradict something in an existing guide, factored into the next revision of that page. We do not publish reader trip reports verbatim as a separate review section, since our guides remain a single edited editorial voice, but the substance of what you tell us can and does shape future wording.
This channel is specifically for feedback about the experience of the place and the route, not for booking, refund or reservation issues, since those need to go to the operator you booked with rather than to us.
