Intellectual Property Policy

How intellectual property in our content is owned, used and protected, and how to raise a concern.

Narrow street in a European old town

1. Ownership

Unless otherwise stated, the text, photography, illustrations, layouts and other materials published on this site are owned by THE WORLD AGENCY OFFICIAL LLC or used under licence, and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark and related law.

2. Permitted use

You may view and read content on this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may share links to our pages. You may not copy, republish, redistribute or otherwise exploit substantial parts of our content without our prior written consent.

  • Personal, non-commercial reading and sharing of links is permitted
  • Quotation of short excerpts with clear attribution is generally acceptable
  • Bulk copying, scraping or republication is not permitted without consent

3. Trademarks

The name The World Agency Official, along with any associated logos, is used to identify THE WORLD AGENCY OFFICIAL LLC and its content. Other trademarks appearing on this site belong to their respective owners and are referenced descriptively.

4. Third-party and licensed material

Some material on this site, including certain photographs, may be used under licence from third parties or under permissive licensing terms. Such material remains subject to the rights of its original owner.

  • Some imagery may be licensed from third-party sources
  • Attribution is provided where required by the applicable licence
  • Licensed material may not be extracted for separate reuse

5. Reporting a concern

If you believe that content on this site infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us with details sufficient to identify the material and the basis of your concern, and we will review the matter.

6. Our response to claims

We take intellectual property concerns seriously and will review reported issues in good faith, taking appropriate action where a claim is substantiated.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our practices.

Where a reader wishes to use an excerpt of our content for editorial, educational or non-commercial purposes, we generally look favourably on requests that include clear attribution and a link back to the original page.

Automated scraping or bulk downloading of site content for the purpose of building a competing product or database is not permitted without our prior written consent.

Photographs and illustrations used on the site are selected and, where applicable, licensed with care, and captions are written to describe the subject rather than to claim it depicts a specific unnamed individual or business.

If content is reused in a way that is inconsistent with this policy, we reserve the right to request its removal and to pursue other remedies available to us under applicable law.

We periodically review the sources and licensing terms of material used on the site to help ensure ongoing compliance with this policy.

We generally do not object to the use of short, clearly attributed excerpts of our text within reviews, academic work or social commentary, provided the use is fair and does not misrepresent the original content.

Where a dispute over intellectual property cannot be resolved informally, we will consider the matter in line with applicable law in the relevant jurisdiction.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted under this policy, and nothing in this document should be read as a broader licence than the one described here.
